Cardinal Way

Graphics for project in Dalton, PA on the Fuller estate. This is a 1 mile educational trail that winds naturally down the topography to Lily Lake. The central trail follows a slight slope towards lily lake This is the Cardinal Way. Along the trail are several nodes that mimic the life of the Northern Cardinal. The purpose of the trail is to provide a recreational facility for the general public where they are able to learn more about the Cardinal and its way of life. The 1-mile long side trail is representative of how far Cardinals will travel from their birthplace. Overall the intention is to mimic the life habits of the Cardinals for the hikers, and provide perfect nesting and habitat for the Northern Cardinal.

This design is also inspired by Frederick Law Olmstead's work, taking inspiration from the Olmstead Plan and his 7 ‘S’ of design particularly ‘Scenery’ and ‘suitability’.
